Mr Becker is the founder and managing director of Becker Patentübersetzung GmbH. He is a publicly appointed and sworn translator for English and Spanish, specialising in translations in the field of intellectual property law. He completed his training as a state-certified translator at the IDI Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut, graduating with distinction. In 2009, he was publicly appointed and sworn in by the Stuttgart Regional Court.
Before founding what is now Becker Patentübersetzung GmbH, Mr Becker worked in a variety of roles, including as an instructor in translation memory software, a software developer and a patent translator at a law firm in Stuttgart.
In addition to his linguistic qualifications, Mr Becker studied computer science, specialising in IT security. His thesis examined the regulation of encryption. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of St Andrews. His master’s thesis in Artificial Intelligence explores a topic at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cancer research.
Mr Becker is married and has a son. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, hiking and travelling to far-flung destinations. He has also supported charitable organisations for many years, including WWF, Lichtblicke e.V. and Tafel Augsburg e.V.
